On December 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for Japan on a working visit to participate in the first “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue Summit. Government officials saw him off at the international airport of the capital.
A few hours later, the presidential aircraft landed at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport, where the head of state received a warm welcome.
It is worth noting that this is the President of Turkmenistan’s second visit to Japan this year. His first visit took place in April 2025, when President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the ceremonial event marking Turkmenistan’s National Day at the World Expo in Osaka. During that visit, a series of high-level bilateral meetings were also held. Notably, Turkmenistan’s national pavilion at Expo 2025 was the first to open and became one of the most visited.
