On August 6, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is visiting Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Having thanked the leader of the friendly country for accepting the invitation to the international forum held in Turkmenistan jointly with the UN, the head of state noted that his participation in such an important event, organized once every ten years, testifies to the great importance attached to activities aimed at the sustainable development of LLDCs.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation to participate in the international Conference, President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized its high organizational level and importance in strengthening cooperation between landlocked developing countries.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the progressive development of bilateral cooperation based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that trade and economic cooperation is an important vector of interstate Turkmen-Armenian relations. At the same time, special importance is attached to the establishment of new areas of partnership and the expansion of the range of export-import goods.

Along with this, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian partnership, noting the existence of great potential for interaction and exchange of experience in the fields of science, education, culture and art.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan exchanged best wishes, expressing confidence that interstate cooperation, built on the principles of mutual respect and trust, will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
