On March 18th President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan received Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE).
Kerkentzes expressed his gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the meeting and the opportunity to discuss ongoing cooperation. He emphasized the BIE’s continued interest in expanding its partnership with Turkmenistan and commended the high standard of the exhibition held in the capital to mark the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov welcomed Kerkentzes, noting that the Secretary General’s visit included participation in high-level meetings and the upcoming meeting of the BIE’s Administrative and Budgetary Committee. He expressed confidence that these events would further strengthen Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the BIE.
During the meeting, both parties underscored the importance of international exhibitions in fostering mutually beneficial trade, economic cooperation, and global economic activity.
Turkmenistan is actively expanding its cooperation with foreign countries. The “Concept of International Exhibition Activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025” highlights the significance Turkmenistan places on developing effective relations with the International Exhibitions Bureau. Turkmenistan, as a member of the BIE, actively participates in world and specialized exhibitions held in various countries.
The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s active participation in the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, organized by the BIE, and expressed his best wishes for the event’s success.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to hosting international exhibitions aimed at global development and to strengthening fruitful cooperation in this area. He wished Secretary General Kerkentzes success in his work.
