The presidential race officially began on last Saturday in Cameroon. Twelve candidates, including one woman, are vying for the country’s highest office.
The campaign will last two weeks and culminate in the presidential election on October 12.
Incumbent President Paul Biya, leader of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (MPD), is seeking another seven-year term to extend his 43-year rule.
