President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Akorda residence in Astana. Following the official meeting, talks were held in narrow and expanded formats.
The leaders discussed the development of bilateral relations, the current state and prospects of cooperation, and regional and international issues. Particular attention was paid to political and diplomatic interaction, sustainable development, and joint work in energy, transport, and the environment.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the positive dynamics in trade and economic relations and emphasized the importance of increasing trade turnover and the work of the Intergovernmental Commission. The head of Turkmenistan proposed expanding cooperation in transport, energy, agriculture, water management, and humanitarian spheres such as culture, science, education, sports, and healthcare.
Following the talks, a signing ceremony for bilateral documents was held.
