On 17 December at the Turkmen State Institute of Finance was held a 2nd Open International Internet Olympiad in “International Financial Reporting Standards. Yesterday they has published the results of the olympiad which brought together students from higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and several foreign countries.
The intellectual competition was held in the format of individual online testing.
More than 200 students from 53 universities in nine countries, including Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, participated in the Olympiad.
International universities represented 126 participants from 33 educational institutions. Sixty-nine students won prizes, securing 13 first, 27 second, and 29 third places.
77 students represented Turkmenistan from 20 universities, of whom 14 were among the winners, receiving two first, three second, and nine third places.
The competition was held in three languages: Turkmen, Russian, and English. Each university sent four participants. Over the course of two hours, the students had to solve complex practical and analytical problems using IFRS, requiring in-depth knowledge and innovative thinking.
According to the organizing committee, the participants demonstrated a high level of professional training, developed financial literacy, and the ability to apply modern analytical methods to solve complex problems.
Overall, the international Olympiad confirmed the significant interest of young people in international financial reporting standards, helped identify talented students, and became an effective platform for strengthening academic cooperation and exchanging experiences between universities across the world.
The organizers noted that such events play an important role in developing interuniversity partnerships and in the implementation of state programs aimed at modernizing the science and education systems and integrating them into the international educational space.
