In early October, a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, led by Chairman Mergen Gurdov, participated in the second Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum, which was held at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) jointly organized the event, with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UAE and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Representatives of government agencies and the private sector from Turkmenistan and the UAE participated in the forum.
In his welcoming remarks, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov noted that constructive dialogue at the highest political level contributes to the active development of trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the UAE. He emphasized that Turkmenistan consistently pursues a policy of economic diversification and actively attracts foreign investment, creating a favorable business environment.
In turn, Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the high level of relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan. He expressed the UAE’s readiness to assist Turkmen companies interested in collaborating with local businesses and expanding their presence in regional markets.
During the forum, representatives of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade presented an overview of the country’s investment climate and its competitive advantages.
Turkmen entrepreneurs presented a number of projects reflecting the national economic potential in areas such as industry, agriculture, energy, and logistics.
The event included an exhibition of Turkmen products, including food products, textiles, and construction materials.
Bilateral meetings between representatives of the two countries’ private sectors were held during the forum.
The Turkmen delegation also visited Sharjah’s permanent industrial exhibition, where they learned about the activities of local enterprises and current trends in the UAE’s manufacturing sector.
