On May 24, within the framework of the XXIV International Exhibition and Conference “White City Ashgabat,” the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiev, met with a delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Zhao Shaoxiang, Director General of Inspur Software. At the meeting, a number of specific proposals were made regarding the use of services provided by the Chinese company in the ongoing phased work to digitize Turkmenistan’s education system.
In his speech, the Minister noted with pride that the state is investing a large amount of financial resources to strengthen the material and technical basis of the education system and is building educational institutions equipped with modern technologies. He reported in detail on the phased adoption of several programs to improve the quality of the education system in the country, including the “Concept for Developing a Digital Education System in Turkmenistan,” and the complex work being carried out in this area. It was emphasized that, in order for the younger generation in Turkmenistan to master information technologies from an early age, laptops are presented to first-grade schoolchildren every year on behalf of the Honorable President.
The Minister noted that the People’s Republic of China is considered one of the main partners in the digitalization of education in Turkmenistan and presented a number of specific proposals to the head of the Chinese company to explore the possibilities of establishing joint cooperation in the future.
Zhao Shaoxiang, in turn, presented the services provided by Inspur Software and the path taken by the People’s Republic of China in the digitalization of education. In particular, he noted that this path consisted of three stages over a 30-year transition period, and the third stage is currently underway, adding that he is ready to share his experience in this regard.
The head of the Chinese company noted that cooperation with the “Aydin Gijeler” economic society has been ongoing for several years and that there is an opportunity to implement joint work based on the proposals presented.
At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that, thanks to the support of the heads of state of both countries, relations between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China will acquire a strategic nature and contribute to the effective implementation of upcoming tasks.
