The Saparmurat Turkmenbashi State Drama Theater of the Balkan Velayat is representing Turkmenistan at the third TURKSOY International Theater Festival, which is taking place from September 21 to 26 in Aktau, the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2025. As reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
On September 26, the Turkmen theater company will perform their play “Baýram han türkmen” on the stage of the N.Zhanturin Regional Musical and Drama Theater.
Nine theater companies from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan will present their best performances at the festival.
The jury includes experienced directors, playwrights, and theater critics from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan.
In addition to competition performances, the festival includes a rich business and educational program. The eleventh meeting of the Board of Directors on the topic “Theatres of the Turkic World: Cultural Integration, Creative Communication, and Modern Development Directions” has already taken place, with the participation of the leadership of TURKSOY and the heads of state theaters from the organization’s member countries.
