On 13 November 2025, within the framework of the Blue Peace Central Asia (BPCA) initiative, the regional conference titled “Water Issues in Central Asia” was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was organized with the support of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). Jumamyrat Owezmyradov, Chief Specialist of the Department of Higher and Secondary Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, participated in the work of the regional conference as part of the Turkmen delegation.
The purpose of this regional conference was to identify key water issues affecting the medium- and long-term future of the region, to discuss priority areas for adaptation and opportunities for financing innovative solutions, as well as to promote coordinated action among Central Asian countries. Participants discussed priority areas of cooperation for 2025-2026, including the development of water diplomacy, joint management of small transboundary rivers, and strengthening the capacities of personnel in water- and climate-related initiatives.
