International Education Day is celebrated on January 24 of each year. On the initiative of the United Nations, several activities are carried out in several countries of the world, especially in African countries, to provide education to children and adolescents. Ensuring continuous and uninterrupted education for children living in remote areas, ensuring a sufficient number of teachers in schools, and providing transportation to schools are among the main issues raised by the UN. In December 2018, the UN General Assembly declared January 24 as International Education Day in order to increase knowledge levels, strengthen world peace, and study development. This year, International Education Day is celebrated under the slogan “The Power of Youth in Creating Education Together”.
On the occasion of International Education Day, several activities are held among schoolchildren, such as honoring teachers, teachers who have influenced your life, instilling the habit of reading at home, reading quickly and reading a lot. Preaching and admonition work is carried out, and issues such as teaching reading to students up to the third grade living in remote villages, providing them with textbooks, are discussed.
