Consulting firm Interbrand has released its annual global brand value report.
Among global automakers, Toyota was named the most valuable brand, ranking sixth overall, behind only IT companies. Analysts note the Japanese brand’s steady growth since 2020, when it was valued at 51.6 billion dollars, and by 2025, it is expected to reach 74.2 billion dollars, a 2% increase from the previous year.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz lost 15% of its value, falling to 50.1 billion dollars and ranking 10th on the list. BMW also showed negative dynamics, losing 10% and reaching a valuation of 46.8 billion dollars, placing 14th.
Only Tesla, ranking 25th, made the top 25 automotive brands. Elon Musk’s brand value has fallen 35% year-over-year, now standing at 29.5 billion dollars. Tesla’s negative trend has been observed since 2023.
Honda, Hyundai, Audi, Ferrari, Volkswagen, Porsche, Nissan, and Kia also made the list. Range Rover ranked 97th. It is worth noting that traditional American brands are not represented in the ranking, although several Chinese ones are. Xiaomi ranked 81st with a valuation of 9.5 billion dollars, and Huawei ranked 96th with a valuation of 7.6 billion dollars. BYD also appeared on the list for the first time, taking 90th place with a valuation of 8.1 billion dollars.
