The Turkmenistan U19 boxing team has begun intensive training for the international season, according to the country’s International Boxing Information Center.
From March 8 to 15, the team will hold a training camp in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the Zhanasar Center. There, they will train alongside their Kazakh counterparts.
Particular attention is being paid to the work of the coaching staffs. Coaches from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are exchanging experiences and discussing training methods. This approach helps improve the coaches’ qualifications and enhance the boxers’ technical and tactical skills.
The camp will prepare the team for the upcoming World Cup in Bangkok. The tournament is of strategic importance: it serves as a qualifier for the Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in November 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. Participation in the camp, held at one of the world’s strongest boxing schools, is aimed at preparing the athletes to compete for Olympic berths.
