The Turkmenistan national team will participate in the Gran Fondo international cycling race, which will be held as part of Abu Dhabi Cycling Week in December 2025. Ahmed Al-Hay Al Hammadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Turkmenistan, published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, reported this in an article.
The diplomat noted that the UAE Embassy actively supports the strengthening of Turkmen-UAE ties through sports initiatives. He also highlighted a number of successful joint projects aimed at developing sports and bilateral cooperation.
In August of this year, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the country hosted a third training camp for young cyclists from Abu Dhabi. In October, Ashgabat hosted the third fitness event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries, with the participation of 120 athletes.
The ambassador emphasized that such events contribute to strengthening the friendship between Turkmenistan and the UAE and open up new opportunities for the joint development of sports.
