On 16 May, the International Conference was held in Geneva entitled “Future We Want: Global Initiative for Young Leaders” and organized by the Italian Diplomatic Academy with the support of the United Nations and in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Speaking at the conference, the representative of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan emphasized the strategic vector of the foreign policy course implemented under the leadership of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Special attention was paid to initiatives reflecting the essence of neutrality, constructive dialogue and international responsibility. In this context, the Turkmen delegation emphasized the special importance of the 30th anniversary of the internationally recognized status of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, considered as a contribution of the country to strengthening global peace, trust and sustainable development.
The importance of declaration of 2025 by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust was also highlighted. In this regard, the participation of the Turkmen side in the conference focused on youth leadership gains an important symbolic significance.
The Permanent Mission also presented a number of national youth initiatives, including the Young SDG Ambassadors program and international youth partnership projects. These initiatives are aimed at realizing the Sustainable Development Agenda and increasing interaction among young leaders at the global level.
The event has become a significant platform for the exchange of ideas and promotion of youth initiatives aimed at attaining a sustainable and peaceful future.
