As part of the tenth Caspian Media Forum, which was held in Astrakhan, the Turkmen delegation visited the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after General Admiral F.M. Apraksin – a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Volga State University of Water Transport” (KIMRT branch of VSUVT).
The head of the branch, Doctor of Economics Olga Kartashova, who introduced the training process and conducted a tour of the university, met representatives of Turkmenistan.
As she noted, the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport is the leading specialized educational institution in the entire Caspian basin, which has received well-deserved recognition by almost all the Caspian countries. Within the walls of the branch, there are faculties of secondary vocational and higher education. The educational institution not only trains young specialists for Russia and the Caspian countries, but also carries out a huge amount of work on the training, retraining and advanced training of current crew members of ships of our country and the countries of the Caspian basin.
Here, all conditions have been created for training cadets and students – there are laboratories, simulators, they can do science, there is an electronic library. And the most unique thing for them is that they can sail under different flags.
“I would like to add that the guys from Turkmenistan are the best cadets of all the Caspian states. I cannot help but mention this fact – they are the best-mannered, most disciplined, responsible students and they study well.
Now we are working to become an independent university, and the Federal Agency is also working on the issue of creating a scientific sailboat of the educational institution. It will now be driven from the Far East – we want to make it like a floating university that will sail on the Caspian Sea and students from all countries will be able to do science and practice some skills there. This sailboat will connect the Caspian states on one common sea,” said Olga Kartashova.
During the tour of the university, the delegation got acquainted with the friendship hall of the Caspian states and the “Turkmenistan” auditorium. As was emphasized, each consulate makes its contribution to the development of the material and technical base of the classrooms. The children of each Caspian country have their own piece of home, where they hold meetings and study the culture of neighboring states.
