From June 15 to 22, the Turkmen delegation visited the capital of the Russian Federation on a working visit, which took place within the framework of the projects of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as reported turkmenistan.gov.tm.
The delegation included representatives of the Ministies of Environmental Protection, Energy, Construction and Architecture, Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan. Also State Customs Service, the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary”, the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs as well as higher education institution of Turkmenistan Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, and enterprises of the refrigeration industry.
The purpose of the trip is to study the experience of switching to natural refrigerants and increasing energy efficiency in light of the reduction in the consumption of hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs) within the framework of the implementation of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
During the trip to Russia, representatives of the Turkmen delegation were acquainted with large enterprises and facilities of the refrigeration industry using natural refrigerants.
To the delegates from Turkmenistan were vividly demonstrated the stages of the production process at the refrigeration equipment manufacturing plant. The guests had the opportunity to be acquainted with a variety of technical solutions related to the use of ammonia as a refrigerant.
The forum was held in the REC “CryoFrost Academy”. International expert Olga Volgina, who presented an overview of international experience in creating minimum energy efficiency standards for refrigeration and air conditioning systems, opened the event. In this regard, examples of the effective experience of the EU, China, the USA, Belarus and other countries were given. The expert listed the measures taken by Turkmenistan in this direction, including in the framework of international projects to phase out HFCs.
The international expert of UNIDO Vasily Tselikov continued the topic of further steps in the development of regulatory legal, programmatic, methodological and information-analytical documents on Turkmenistan’s implementation of obligations under the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment to it.
Yuri Dubrovin, Chairman of the Board of Rossoyuzkholodprom, spoke about the opportunities for Russian business to cooperate with Turkmenistan in the area of implementing the Kigali Amendment.
Alexander Kotlyar, founder and head of the “Technofrost” plant, head of the “KrioFrost” Group of companies, also addressed the audience. He shared his experience in creating and developing a business in the field of refrigeration technology.
Ilya Malafeev, Head of the “KrioFrost Academy”, spoke on the topic of energy efficiency of refrigeration systems using natural refrigerants using the example of real objects.
The program of the visit of the delegation from Turkmenistan also included training sessions on the safe handling of natural refrigerants, conducted at the “KrioFrost Academy”. At the end of the training, the participants were acquainted with the operation of another refrigeration system using natural refrigerants at the “Globus” distribution center in Pushkino, Moscow region. On the last day of the visit, the specialists of the Turkmen enterprises who participated in the trainings were awarded certificates of completion.
All the events that took place during the visit to the Russian Federation aroused the keen interest of Turkmen specialists and greatly contributed to the enrichment of their knowledge, to the acquisition of valuable experience and the development of professional skills. Having expressed great gratitude for the productive meetings and warm reception on Russian soil, representatives of Turkmenistan invited Russian experts to take part in the International Conference and Exhibition “Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan” (CIET 2025), which will be held in Ashgabat on November 3-5.
