On November 3, the Turkmen Literature and Creativity Week officially opened in Istanbul. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey organized the event in cooperation with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
The event brought together representatives of cultural and academic circles from both countries, as well as enthusiasts of Turkmen literature and art.
The opening culminated in the presentation of a collection of poems, “Woman and Word in the Turkic World,” dedicated to the work of Amangozel Shagulyeva, People’s Writer of Turkmenistan and laureate of the International Magtymguly Prize. Her works, distinguished by their high artistic level and profound patriotism, continue to inspire generations and occupy a significant place in modern Turkmen literature.
During the opening of the Turkmen Literature and Creativity Week, welcoming remarks were made by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Turkey, Mekan Ishangulyeva; the Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sultan Rayev; and the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, Saragt Babayeva. The speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Turkey, as well as the importance of preserving and promoting the shared Turkic cultural heritage.
Various events are planned as part of the Turkmen Literature and Creativity Week, including exhibitions, creative meetings, and poetry evenings in Ankara and Istanbul, designed to expand knowledge of Turkmen culture and its multifaceted heritage.
