Saparguly Magtumov, the Ambassador of the international “Technovation Girls” program from Turkmenistan, has won the prestigious “Global Ambassador Leadership Award” – “GALA-2025.”
Saparguly received this esteemed award for his significant contribution to the successful promotion and implementation of the “Technovation Girls” program in Turkmenistan. He is the first young ambassador to receive the “GALA” award.
Megan Black, the program coordinator from the headquarters in California, noted at the award ceremony that Saparguly diligently worked with an excellent team of ambassadors in Turkmenistan and the Central Asian region. In addition to fulfilling program tasks in Ashgabat, she provided technical support to the team and successfully coordinated ambassadors throughout the country.
The online award ceremony brought together young ambassadors from 117 countries participating in the “Technovation Girls” program. “As is the tradition every year, four ambassadors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, community building, and collaborative advocacy have been recognized,” it was announced. This season, in addition to the representative from Turkmenistan, ambassadors from Spain, Nigeria, and Kyrgyzstan were also recognized.
The Technovation Girls international program has been running in Turkmenistan for four years. This project is a global initiative aimed at developing social entrepreneurship and increasing opportunities for young girls in STEM education. As part of a large-scale technological competition among girls, participants work in teams to create mobile applications that address local and international life challenges. At the end of each season, the finalist teams of the IT competitions gather in California for the Global Summit, where they present prototypes of their applications to leaders of leading technology companies such as Google, Meta, and Amazon.
The Technovation Girls program helps participants learn about modern innovations and global experiences, increase their motivation, expand their knowledge and skills, and understand the importance of their participation in the successful development of their countries in this era of digital technologies.
