The Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts and Crafts of the Republic of Dagestan held a familiarization tour for foreign tour operators from August 25 to 27 this year to develop inbound tourism, as reported by the country’s MIC.
Representatives of 13 companies attended the event from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Oman, Bahrain, Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
The program of the visit included familiarization with famous landmarks, hotel infrastructure and gastronomic specialties. Following the tour, a meeting was held with the First Deputy Minister of Tourism of Dagestan Abdula Magomedov, during which the prospects for partnership in the tourism sector were discussed.
The guests positively assessed the cultural heritage and natural resources of Dagestan, as well as the hospitality of local residents. At the same time, the importance of increasing the number of English-language signs and training specialists who speak foreign languages to improve the comfort of tourists from other countries was noted.
