According to the results published recently by the British organization Times Higher Education (THE), 13 universities of Turkmenistan entered the new 22nd edition of the world university rankings THE World University Rankings 2026 with the status of “reporter”. Among them:
1. Dovletmammet Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages;
2. Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;
3. Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan;
4. International University for Humanities and Development;
5. Magtymguly Turkmen State University;
6. Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan;
7. Oguz Han Engineering and Technological University of Turkmenistan;
8. State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan;
9. Turkmen Agricultural Institute;
10. S.A.Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University;
11. Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute;
12. Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management;
13. Turkmen State Institute of Finance.
Universities are ranked by international experts at THE using the latest methodology, which allows for a comprehensive assessment of higher education institutions. It is based on 18 carefully verified indicators measuring the effectiveness of universities in five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, interaction with industry, and international prospects.
The 22nd edition of THE World University Rankings 2026 includes 2,191 universities from 115 countries and territories.
