The Turkmen-Uzbek feature film “Magtymguly Pyragy” received a diploma from the “Russia – Islamic World” program at the XXI International Film Festival “Altyn Minbar” in Kazan.
The director of the film Muzaffarhon Erkinov was recognized for the harmonious combination of the cultures of the two countries in the film, the creation of an inspiring story that moved the audience.
The events of the film take place in the 18th century, and the story of the life of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy unfolds before the eyes of the audience, his path through the Gogeldash madrasah in Buhara and Shirgazy in Hywa.
The project was initiated by Turkmenistan, which played a key role in the creation of the film, providing historical monuments and archives for filming, which made it possible to achieve an accurate recreation of the era.
The film not only tells about the great poet, but also became a symbolic bridge uniting peoples.
