On 22 October, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiyev, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Si Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on assuming office and underscored the strategic nature of Turkmen–Chinese cooperation in the field of education.
The parties discussed expanding cooperation in Chinese-language studies and energizing academic exchanges, advancing programs for the professional development of teachers, as well as promoting joint projects in digital educational technologies. The Turkmen side expressed gratitude for China’s support to ongoing grant initiatives and discussed increasing scholarship opportunities for Turkmen students, as well as projects aimed at deploying digital solutions in cooperation with the relevant structures of the Ministry of Education of the PRC
It was also noted that talks were held on the practical implementation of the “Luban Workshop” project in Turkmenistan, with the participation of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University, and Xi’an Shiyou University.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen practical cooperation.
