On August 7, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Alemu Sime Feisa.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on trade and economic interaction.

It was noted that mutual visits at the highest and high level are the main factor in the development of interstate relations. In this context, the importance of holding political consultations on a regular basis was emphasized.

The diplomats noted the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, in particular the UN. The possibilities of establishing interaction with the African Union were considered.

The importance of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was particularly emphasized. The Ethiopian side particularly noted the high organizational level and success of this conference.

The parties expressed their commitment to peace-loving initiatives and agreed to continue their partnership in this vein. In this context, the importance of the International Forum for Peace and Trust scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in December of this year was emphasized.
