The Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan approved a cooperation agreement between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan to combat transnational crime, as reported by the kazakhstan.today.
This document was signed on October 10, 2024, in Ashgabat and creates a legal basis for joint actions by the two countries to combat organized crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and human trafficking.
The agreement provides for the exchange of operational information, joint investigations, and the provision of expert assistance in various areas. This cooperation is expected to significantly strengthen security and increase the effectiveness of the fight against crime, which requires coordination between law enforcement agencies of both countries.
The Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have been appointed responsible for implementing the agreement, including training and professional development of employees.
