On October 16, the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan hosted a conference titled “Makhtumkuli – A World Thinker and the Significance of His Philosophy in the Modern Era.”
Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan, the Committee on Interethnic Relations, the Union of Writers, the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center, the International Institute of Central Asia, as well as scholars, teachers, and students participated in the event.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Shadurdy Meredov emphasized that Makhtumkuli Pyragy’s views on peace and harmony underpin Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, as reflected in President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s book “Makhtumkuli – A World Thinker.”
Speakers noted that the Turkmen poet’s work made a significant contribution to world literature, and his poems, promoting peace, unity, and humanism, serve as a source of wisdom and strengthen the friendship and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries.
