A student of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, Mahym Atakova, became a finalist of the international competition and exhibition “Picture of the World”, organized by the branch of the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad.
Young artists from 65 countries took part in the competition, including Russia, China, Turkmenistan, Libya, Senegal, Kazakhstan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and other countries. In total, over 1,447 works were submitted to the competition.
The competition was held among artists aged 18 to 35 on the theme “Values of my people as part of the global culture of humanity” in three nominations: painting, graphics and digital art.
Mahym Atakova, a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphics, specializing in Book Graphics, presented three works: “Sweet Dream”, “Living History” and “Happy Childhood”.
Two of them – “Sweet Dream” and “Living History” – are currently in a private collection of an art connoisseur in the United States.
The works of the Turkmen artist underwent a rigorous selection: first they entered the top 100 best works of the competition, and then the jury selected them among the 50 finalists. Mahym Atakova received a certificate confirming her inclusion in the top 50 best art works of the international competition for young artists “Picture of the World” in 2025.
