The State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan completed the second stage of an advanced educational course on modern renewable energy sources.
The 72-hour training program focused on developing practical and analytical skills in sustainable energy systems. The first module of the course took place in early September 2025.
This initiative was implemented as part of the long-term project “European Union for Green Development in Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024–2029,” which is supported by the European Union and the German Federal Foreign Office. The project is coordinated and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The training focused on the applied aspects of implementing renewable energy technologies, analyzing the effectiveness of energy projects, and developing solutions for the sustainable development of the national energy system. Specialists taught the classes from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), who have significant international experience in green technologies.
Following the course, the institute’s faculty, representatives of the Renewable Energy Research and Production Center, and employees of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan received certificates confirming their advanced training. Dr. Eduard Siemens, Head of the Doctoral Center for Engineering and Information Technology at Anhalt University, emphasized that the program was an important step in building a solid expert base for the phased implementation of clean energy solutions in the country.
