The WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan, together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, presented a digital platform for secondary schools, “Immune Patrol.
Representatives from ministries, the Institute of Education, several UN agencies, biology teachers from pilot schools, and relevant specialists participated in the presentation. The platform’s launch underscores the country’s commitment to developing digital learning and improving schoolchildren’s health.
Experts described countries where “Immune Patrol” is already operational, demonstrated how the platform increases student engagement, and promotes understanding of health issues. The platform includes six modules with digital games, classroom activities, animations, and practical simulations. It explains the principles of a healthy lifestyle, the basics of immunology, and how vaccines work. Children also learn to critically evaluate medical information and recognize misinformation.
Plans are underway to introduce “Immune Patrol” into Turkmenistan’s school system. The initiative aims to improve health knowledge, build confidence in vaccination, and develop the skills needed for a safe life.
