Representatives of Turkmenistan’s railway administration participated in the 82nd meeting of the Carriage Commission of the CIS Council for Railway Transport, according to the country’s International Information Center.
The meeting was attended by relevant agencies from the CIS, Baltic states, and Georgia. Issues related to the operation, repair, and maintenance of freight cars on 1520 mm gauge tracks were discussed.
The commission approved nine draft amendments to regulations governing the maintenance of wheelsets, bogies, and other components. These decisions relate to safety and reliability standards for international transportation.
Participants also approved updated specifications for component production and made over 50 changes to interstate databases and reference books for car models.
Particular attention was paid to the development of regional production. Information on the production of solid-rolled wheels in Uzbekistan, brake cylinders in Russia, and car axles in Kazakhstan was reviewed.
Following the meeting, several companies, including the Baku Carriage Repair Plant, were granted the right to conduct technical diagnostics of cars.
The decisions taken are aimed at extending the service life of the freight fleet and ensuring the stability of interstate transportation.
