Turkmenistan is preparing to host the 30th International Conference and Exhibition “Oil & Gas of Turkmenistan” (OGT 2025) in Ashgabat from October 22-24, following momentum from the recent Gastech 2025 event in Milan. The Gastech conference, which gathered over 50,000 energy professionals, focused on key themes like energy security, decarbonization, and new investment frameworks—topics that are central to Turkmenistan’s own energy strategy.
OGT 2025 has seen an exceptional level of international interest, with all exhibition space already booked and more than 400 delegates from 42 countries confirmed to attend. The attendees will include ministers, CEOs of leading energy companies, and representatives from international organizations, making the event a crucial platform for dialogue and deal making.
Strategic Projects and Regional Role
Turkmenistan is actively advancing several key energy projects that underscore its growing regional influence. Discussions have progressed on the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, a project seen as vital for meeting South Asia’s rising energy demand.
Additionally, significant progress is being made on the Galkynysh field, the world’s second-largest gas field. New opportunities are also emerging in offshore projects in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. These initiatives reinforce Turkmenistan’s position as a reliable energy supplier and a key partner in innovation and cross-border cooperation.
