The 3rd International TURKSOY Theatre Festival concluded in Aktau. Performing groups from nine countries participated, as reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
Performances presented at the N. Zhanturin Regional Music and Drama Theatre reflected the historical memory and traditions of the Turkic peoples. The Saparmurat Turkmenbashi State Drama Theatre of the Balkan Velayat received the award “For the Popularization of National Traditions” for its production of “Baýram han türkmen.” The award was a gift for the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and will be displayed in the theatre’s museum.
Agamyrat Baltayev, a representative of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and a member of the festival jury, was awarded the TURKSOY Certificate of Honor.
The festival included master classes, seminars, and exhibitions of theatrical costumes, arts and crafts, and national musical instruments. Artists and cultural figures also visited Aktau’s landmarks. The festival concluded with a celebratory concert.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev noted that the festivals continue to develop and are presented to audiences in a new format. The main goal of the event is to strengthen ties between Turkic peoples through the language of theater.
