A gala event dedicated to the Harvest Festival took place in Turkmenistan, hosted by the country’s public organizations.
The event served as an important occasion to summarize the achievements of farmers and to recognize the state’s key contribution to agricultural development.
The event highlighted Turkmenistan’s support for farmers, including tenant farmers and peasant associations, in the areas of agricultural machinery, infrastructure, and housing construction. A key focus was the introduction of water-saving technologies and the provision of farmers with preferential loans, seeds, and other resources, which contribute to increased production efficiency.
At the gala, seven top agricultural professionals from various regions of the country were awarded Certificates of Honor and valuable gifts. Among those honored was Khoshgeldy Agakishiev, Head of the Grain Crop Breeding Department, who developed new wheat varieties, including “Serdar,” “Arkadag,” and “Pyragy,” recognized as highly productive and climate-resistant.
Also recognized were the achievements of tenant farmer Orazdurdy Soltyev from the Dashoguz region, who achieved a record wheat yield, and the work of cotton grower Nartach Saryjaeva from the Ahal region, who harvested an impressive cotton crop.
Special attention was given to bakers and melon growers, including Ayjemal Mirisheva from the Aşgabatçorek production association, who has been creating new varieties of traditional Turkmen chorek for over 20 years.
