“We are in favor of closer cooperation in the energy sector. Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volume of natural gas supplies to the SCO states,” the President of Turkmenistan said.
He noted that today Turkmenistan is also focusing on electric power. “We are open to discussing the practical aspects of electricity supplies, expanding the directions and volumes. In general, we consider the electric power industry as one of the priorities of cooperation with the SCO,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov added.
Another area of possible cooperation is industrial cooperation. “I believe that the positive dynamics of economic growth inherent in our states, the growing number of new industrial facilities, the expansion of the range of goods and services produced – all this should be embodied in the process of economic partnership. We are ready to take part in the strategy of industrial cooperation,” President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
The SCO summit was held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1, and was attended by more than 20 leaders, as well as representatives of international organizations.
