On August 30, a briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the regular, 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The participants of the briefing included the heads and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as representatives of the domestic media.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov especially emphasized the importance of the upcoming, jubilee 80th session of the UN General Assembly, noting that this is an important milestone symbolizing the sustainability and relevance of multilateral diplomacy.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan proceeds from the fact that the policy of positive neutrality, based on trust and respect, is an effective tool for strengthening stability, preventing conflicts and developing international cooperation.
The briefing participants exchanged views and spoke in favor of continuing close cooperation on the path to implementing the tasks within the framework of the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the briefing, the active and constructive role of Turkmenistan in peacebuilding, promotion of regional and international stability and sustainable development was noted.
