The national jiu-jitsu team of Turkmenistan performed successfully at the international tournament held recently in Genoa, Italy. They won 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals.
Our national team participated in the international competition with 18 athletes. In the competition, which brought together almost half a thousand athletes from 30 countries of the world, our compatriots Soltanmyrat Norzhev (in the weight class up to 56 kilograms), Shikhberdy Rakhmanov (in the weight class up to 62 kilograms), Islam Ovezov (in the weight class up to 69 kilograms), Rahmet Taganov (in the weight class up to 77 kilograms), Suray Gokbeyeva (in the weight class up to 57 kilograms), Hurma Abdiyeva (in the weight class up to 52 kilograms) and Eziz Yolliev (in the weight class up to 85 kilograms) won gold medals. Among our athletes who won silver medals are Aynur Kullyeva in the weight class up to 48 kilograms, Bayram Rovshenov in the weight class up to 56 kilograms. Also Suleiman Nuryev in the weight class up to 62 kilograms, Annagurt Amanmuradov in the weight class up to 77 kilograms, Seyran Dovvaev in the weight class up to 85 kilograms and Gudrat Esenov in the weight class up to 69 kilograms.
Aynur Kullyeva also won a medal in the ne-waza competition. This time, she won a bronze medal. In addition to Aynur, our compatriots Abdyrakhman Karajayev (in the weight class up to 56 kilograms), Dayanch Kullyyev (up to 77 kilograms), Parahat Rahmanov (up to 62 kilograms) and Bahtiyar Myradov (up to 85 kilograms) also climbed to the third step of the podium.
