Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced he would run for presidential elections next year.
“I’ll be 80 years old, but rest assured, I have the same energy as when I was 30. I’ll run for a fourth presidential term,” he said during a state visit to Indonesia.
Presidential elections in Brazil are scheduled for October 4, 2026. A vice president, members of Congress, and governors will also be elected.
