At a government meeting on March 27, Deputy Prime Minister B. Annayev reported on the progress of modernizing the communications sector and developing the country’s digital infrastructure.
As noted, Turkmenistan is implementing measures to integrate the state-owned postal service company, Turkmenpost, into the Universal Postal Union’s International Postal System (IPS).
He stated that connecting to the IPS will enhance the national postal service’s competitiveness, establish interaction with the world’s largest e-commerce platforms, and establish direct cooperation with them.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, noted that the country is systematically working to develop the digital economy and establish a modern logistics infrastructure. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue modernizing the communications sector and improving postal operations.
