In 2021 Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free stay for US citizens (and citizens of several other countries) aged 55 and older traveling for tourism for up to 30 days.
Plans to introduce a visa-free stay for all US citizens were first mentioned in a presidential decree from 15 May, aimed at “significantly increasing” tourist arrivals to the country.
That document also instructed the Foreign Ministry to begin negotiations with the United States on easing visa requirements for Uzbekistan citizens traveling to the US.
