GIZ Service Office Turkmenistan would like to announce a new vacant position in the capacity of Project Assistant – EU for a green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024 – 2028 (full-time employment).
EU for a Green Turkmenistan Project: „Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024-2028“ – is part of and contributes to the Team Europe Initiative on Water, Energy and Climate Change in Central Asia, which is an EU Global Gateway flagship initiative. The Global Gateway is the EU’s contribution to narrowing the global investment gap worldwide.
The overall goal of the project is to continue and reinforce EU-Turkmenistan partnership concerning climate action, promoting renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, reducing methane and GHG emissions. The project will support to realize Turkmenistan’s policy objectives for sustainable green growth by applying international and EU best practices and standards.
The project is jointly co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Foreign Office as well as implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the framework of the Green Central Asia Initiative Phase II.
The project measures will center on establishing an effective dialogue and strategic partnership between the EU and government institutions of Turkmenistan and peer-to-peer exchange with capacity building as well as implementing small-scale pilots showcasing adaptation measures to climate change.
Main partners are Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, State Enterprise „Turkmengaz“, Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan.
Duty station: Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Duration: 2024-2028.
