On June 25, Senator of the French Republic and member of the parliamentary friendship group “France – Central Asia” Samantha Casebonne was received by Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Gakhryman Rozyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Makhri Bashimova and Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev, as reported French Embassy in Ashgabat.
During the meetings, the parties noted the role of interparliamentary cooperation, in particular, within the framework of the Parliamentary Friendship Group “France – Central Asia”.
The parties also noted the importance of bilateral meetings between the foreign ministries of the two countries. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of education, especially between higher education institutions of the two countries.
Having expressed gratitude for the support of the status of neutrality and cooperation within the framework of international organizations, the Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to intensify active inter-parliamentary dialogue.
The parties stressed the importance of organizing visits at the highest and parliamentary levels.
