At the Government meeting on August 29, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atakhalliyev reported on the results of the activities and said that in January-August of this year, the growth rate of production in the agricultural sector compared to the same period last year was 110.4 percent.
As part of the ongoing seasonal campaigns, preparations are underway to collect the grown cotton in the established time frame, including cotton ginning enterprises, collection points, and equipment that will be used to transport the crop.
Noting that preparations are underway for the upcoming sowing of wheat – laying the foundation for the future harvest, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the head of state to determine the date for the start of grain sowing with the participation of honorary elders.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that an important and responsible time has come for grain farmers – sowing wheat, emphasized the need for organized sowing within agrotechnical timeframes and gave his blessing to begin sowing grain in all velayats of the country on September 3.
The head of state also noted that the radical changes being implemented in the agricultural sector in the country are aimed at increasing the volume of high-quality agricultural products and ensuring food abundance. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to continue effective work on the comprehensive development of the industry.
