On September 3, the general sowing of winter wheat began in Turkmenistan. With the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the important agricultural campaign began simultaneously in all velayats.
According to a good folk tradition, having offered a prayer to the Almighty for a generous and full harvest of grain, the venerable elders began the sowing. Having thrown the first seeds of winter wheat into the well-prepared soil with the words “Her bir dänäň müň bolsun!” (“Let each of them be a thousand!”), the aksakals and their young assistants passed the symbolic baton of sowing to the machine operators.
Following the instructions of the head of the Turkmen state, farmers prepared for the important campaign with special care, plowing and fertilizing the agricultural lands intended for sowing wheat in a timely manner.
On the start of wheat sowing, seminars were held in all regions of the country with the participation of representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, heads of daikhan associations, agronomists, machine operators, tenant farmers, and respected elders. During the seminars, issues of organized sowing campaign, use of the latest agricultural techniques and best practices in grain cultivation were discussed. This will help farmers to sow strategically important agricultural crops on time and with high quality.
An exhibition of agricultural products produced in the country and modern special equipment was also organized. On the start of sowing, song and music performances by artists and creative groups were held everywhere.
