Young artists from Turkmenistan are invited to participate in the “Traditional Children’s Games of the Turkic World” competition, organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). As reported in Turkmenistan Golden Age
The event is being held to commemorate the designation of Aktau, Kazakhstan, as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025.” The competition aims to support and develop creative youth within the Turkic world, foster interest in traditional and contemporary visual arts, and encourage creativity among young artists of the Turkic world.
Eligible participants include young artists, students, and pupils aged 12 to 18 from art departments of specialized schools and higher educational institutions in TURKSOY member countries. Each participant is required to depict traditional children’s games specific to their country. The organizers will provide the names, rules, and storylines of traditional games for each country. For Turkmenistan, these games include: Aýterek – Günterek, Ogar-Ogar, Düzme, Ýaglyga towusmak, and Bukuldym.
Submissions will be accepted until April 30, 2025, and should be sent via email to: tdcabest@gmail.com (State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan).
An international jury will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria: originality and vibrancy, quality and execution technique, creativity, artistry, and overall performance level.
The results of the first round will be announced on May 15, 2025, on the official TURKSOY website: www.turksoy.org. The results of the second round will be published on the same website on June 30, 2025.
The awarding ceremony is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan. The works of winners and finalists will be featured in a catalog-album titled “Traditional Children’s Games of the Turkic World.”
