The Chinese Embassy in Ashgabat held a ceremony to present notifications of admission to Chinese universities to the winners of the Chinese Government Scholarship Program.
Thanks to 100 educational grants allocated by the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, 95 Turkmen students will be able to begin their studies in China.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Ji Shumin personally congratulated the students and their parents.
The ceremony became a clear indication of the strengthening ties between the countries. Today, almost a thousand students in 9 universities and about 5,700 schoolchildren in 10 secondary schools in Turkmenistan study Chinese. More than 6,500 Turkmen students are already studying in Chinese universities in various specialties.
