From September 8 to 21, a delegation from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, at the invitation of the Chinese side, participated in a two-week training seminar in Urumqi, dedicated to improving customs clearance capabilities at seaports for Central Asian states.
The delegation included employees of customs posts of land and sea ports located in the area of responsibility of the Ashgabat city and Balkan velayat customs.
During the training, participants thoroughly explored practical algorithms for expediting customs clearance at seaports, the operation of contactless inspection systems, automated processing of electronic documents, and the Smart Railway Port system, designed for the rapid clearance of containers at borders. Particular attention was paid to the use of intelligent customs risk management systems.
Adopting China’s best practices in customs clearance contributes to ongoing efforts to improve customs posts at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
