A café powered by artificial intelligence (AI) has opened in Stockholm, Sweden. AI is responsible for menu selection, purchasing, and staffing, as reported by the Agence France-Presse.
According to the agency, the project was implemented by the startup Andon Labs using Google’s Gemini system. The algorithm, dubbed Mona, independently issues permits, interacts with suppliers, and interviews candidates.
As AFP notes, the experiment has already uncovered a number of issues related to the use of AI. Specifically, there were errors in purchasing and difficulties related to employee working conditions. The café has been open for about a week and welcomes up to 80 customers per day.
