A meeting of the CIS Security and Intelligence Agencies Heads was held in St. Petersburg, with delegations from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participating. This was reported by the CIS International Information Center.
In his greeting to the participants, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the close partnership between the Commonwealth’s intelligence agencies serves as a reliable foundation for protecting the sovereignty of states and maintaining regional stability.
The central theme of the meeting was strengthening practical cooperation amid geopolitical tensions. Participants analyzed the international situation and noted that the actions of a number of Western countries are undermining the institutions of international law and complicating the military-political situation along the CIS borders.
Following the meeting, the heads of delegations confirmed their intention to promptly coordinate efforts across intelligence agencies to effectively address external threats and protect national interests.
