A delegation from the Academy of Sciences and the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology represented Turkmenistan at the international forum “Science and Technology in Society” (STS) and the 22nd roundtable of science and technology ministers in Kyoto, according to the online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Forum Chairman Hiroshi Komiyama, who emphasized the role of innovation and international dialogue in global sustainable development, opened the event.

During plenary and thematic sessions, experts discussed the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and renewable energy, taking into account ethical standards and risks. Participants paid special attention to the integration of scientific advances into environmental issues, the role of universities in training specialists, and investments in human capital in the digital age.

At a special meeting of the heads of the academies of sciences, President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdy Ashirov spoke, outlining the state strategy for developing research, implementing high technologies, supporting young scientists, and strengthening international scientific partnerships. The delegation’s visit, aimed at expanding technological and educational cooperation.
