Cargo transit through the Incheburun border crossing in Golestan Province increased by 48% from March 20 to April 20, reaching 4000 tons worth 13 million dollars, according to Shahriyar Shahriyari, Director General of Golestan Customs.
This growth in transit is accompanied by an increase in the region’s export figures. During the reporting period, a total of 65000 tons of non-commodity goods worth 29 million dollars were exported from Golestan through all customs points.
Agricultural and industrial products comprised the bulk of these exports, including pistachios, steel rods, cheese, wood panels, pipes and profiles, beverages, polyethylene, and iodine. Central Asian countries were the main destinations.
Incheburun is a major rail and port border crossing between Iran and Turkmenistan, located in northeastern Iran, in Golestan Province, near the Caspian Sea coast. Both railway and road routes of international transit pass through it.
